Mission: The Rockcastle County Development Board is a group of volunteer citizens that meet monthly to discuss/implement important county projects. The board takes charge, assists or facilitates projects that improve the quality of life or promotes growth in Rockcastle County.

Organization: The Rockcastle County Development Board, Inc. is a 501c3 organization made up of an Executive Committee of seven volunteer members.  Development Board voting members consist of Leadership Rockcastle Alumni, City Mayors and the County Judge Exec.  The organization has one paid Project Coordinator.

History: In 1998 a small group of local businessmen came together to discuss the future of Rockcastle County. They recognized the need for a group of citizens to organize so they could discuss topics that would move the county forward. In 2002, Bige Towery, John Clontz and others applied for and received an ARC (Appalachian Regional Commission) grant that enabled them to involve the community in the development of the Rockcastle County Strategic Plan.

The Development Board meets the 4th Wednesday of each month.
